Exam attendance and marks
The principle: attendance and mark recorded together
For a candidate enrolled in a session, attendance and the mark are recorded in a single step, by the school admin, head teacher or teacher. There is no separate step for entering the mark, and no draft mark distinct from the final one: the mark you save is the mark shown.
Attendance statuses
Each candidate has one of the following statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Registered | No attendance recorded yet. |
| Present | The candidate sat the exam. |
| Absent | The candidate did not show up. |
| Absent (justified) | Absence reported with a justification. |
The mark
The mark is a free decimal number: the application does not impose a marking scale (no fixed /20 or other scale) and does not apply validation that locks the mark after entry. A free-text notes field lets you add a comment per candidate.
Where to view attendance and marks
On the session detail record (menu Exams → select the session), the Enrolled candidates section lists, for each pupil: attendance, mark and notes. The Invigilators section separately lists the staff assigned to the session.
Publishing and closing a session
A session follows the progression Draft → Published → In progress → Closed. There is no head teacher validation step before publication, no PDF, CSV or Excel export, and no e-mail notification sent to pupils or parents when the session is published or closed.
The exams module does not include pass-rate or mark-distribution statistics.
