Initial setup wizard

Once your institution has been created (see the article Creating your institution), the setup wizard (Initial setup) guides you through preparing your school. It has 8 steps and takes about 10 minutes.

You can return to it at any time via Settings → Initial setup.

Step 1 — Welcome

An introduction screen presenting the upcoming steps. Click Start setup.

Step 2 — Contact details

Address (line 1, line 2), postal code, city, phone, public contact e-mail, website and logo URL — all these fields are optional and can be completed later. This information appears on documents issued by your school (report cards, invoices, letters).

Step 3 — Levels & classes

Tick the levels your institution offers from 26 year levels grouped into 5 cycles (Nursery, Primary, Lower secondary, Upper secondary, Post-secondary). Nothing is created automatically — only the levels you tick are affected.

You can then configure automatic class generation (naming convention by letter or number, number of classes per level, estimated number of pupils per class) and preview the result before confirming.

This step requires an active academic year to already exist; otherwise the wizard prompts you to create one first.

Step 4 — Invite your team

Add one or more rows (first name, last name, e-mail, role) to invite your first colleagues. Each one receives an e-mail to create their account. This step can be skipped.

Step 5 — Price list

Define your base tuition fees: price list name, currency, default VAT, payment modes (monthly, quarterly, annual) and optional fee lines per level. You can add more options later from the Finance menu. Optional step.

Step 6 — Modules

Activate the optional modules you need (canteen, transport, school nurse, etc.). Modules you don’t select remain available later from My subscription. Optional step.

Step 7 — Required documents

Tick the documents parents will need to provide when enrolling a pupil. You can adjust these rules by level or class later. Optional step.

Step 8 — Done

A summary of what has been configured (levels and classes created, staff invited, price list, modules activated, required documents). Click Go to dashboard → to reach your workspace, or Invite parents and pupils → to keep populating your institution.

What this wizard does NOT include

  • No academic year step: it is configured separately under Settings → Academic years (required before the Levels & classes step).
  • No global currency or time zone selection, beyond the currency field on the price list step.
  • Logo: a simple optional URL field on the Contact details step, not a file upload.

Complementary getting-started guide

The Getting started guide menu (route /configuration) offers a complementary 10-point checklist: school profile, academic years, levels, classes, staff invited, pupils added, price list, modules, required documents, payment methods. It shows your overall progress and lets you jump back into configuring each item individually.
