Canteen module

Schoolysoft canteen module
Canteen module — enrolments, daily attendance and this week's menus.

The canteen module manages meal enrolments, daily attendance tracking, menus and allergens, plus a monthly billing preview.

This module is a subscription option (opt.cantine). If the Canteen menu does not appear for your school, contact your Schoolysoft account manager to enable the option on your subscription — there is no Settings → Options screen to switch it on yourself.

Features

  • Enrolments: per pupil and academic year, with the weekdays covered (Monday to Friday) and a billing mode.
  • Meal attendance: each day, school leadership or the accountant records every enrolled pupil’s attendance using 4 statuses (see below).
  • Menus: entry of daily menus (starter, main course, side dish, cheese, dessert) with free-text allergens, published so parents and pupils can view them.
  • Cross-checked allergen alerts: the dashboard flags menus whose declared allergens cross a registered pupil’s dietary profile.
  • Billing preview: a monthly amount due per pupil can be estimated from the billing mode chosen at enrolment (flat rate, partial flat rate, or à la carte). This is an internal management estimate, not a final invoice integrated into the parent billing journey.
  • Suspension and cancellation: a school manager can suspend or cancel an enrolment by providing a reason.

There is no dedicated “canteen staff” role yet: attendance is recorded by the school’s admin, headteacher or accountant.

What the parent can do

The parent can enrol their child in the canteen and view published menus. Suspending or cancelling an enrolment is reserved for school managers — parents cannot do this themselves.
