A pupil cannot see their homework

Check:

  1. Is the lesson properly published (status “Published”, not “Draft” or “Not filled in”)?
  2. Is the pupil assigned to the correct class in Schoolysoft?
  3. Was the homework item actually added to this lesson before publishing (or afterwards, via an edit within the 30-day window)?

A parent cannot access the class journal

Access is conditional on a permission enabled by the school on the guardianship link between the parent and the pupil. Contact the school administration to have this access checked or enabled.

Why can’t I create a new lesson manually?

The class journal is entirely driven by the timetable: every slot scheduled for a teacher automatically generates an entry to fill in under My class journal. There is no “New lesson” button — to add a lesson, a matching timetable slot must exist first.

Can a lesson be deleted?

No. No lesson can be deleted, whether in draft or published, regardless of the role signed in (including school leadership).

A teacher has left the school. Can their lessons be edited?

No. Only the author of a lesson can edit it. School leadership can view all lessons from /journal but cannot edit them, including those of a teacher who has left the school.

What happens after 30 days on a published lesson?

The lesson locks permanently: its author can no longer edit it. The edit button then shows the “Progressive lock” label.

Can several lessons be published at once?

No. Each lesson is published individually, from its own entry page. There is no bulk publishing.

How does entry compliance tracking work?

School leadership has a dedicated dashboard, Compliance (/journal/compliance), showing for each teacher the number of slots, the number of published lessons, the entry rate, and delays of more than 48 hours.

How can I tell whether a pupil has viewed a homework assignment?

The “Done” checkbox ticked by the pupil is strictly personal: it is neither visible to nor shared with the teacher. To verify actual submission of an “Assignment to hand in” item, use the Submissions page for that lesson.
