Bulk-import students (CSV)
CSV import lets you create up to 1,000 student records in a single operation, with a review preview before anything is created.
Prepare the CSV file
From Students → Import, click Download the CSV template. The expected headers (in French):

Optional columns: prenom_usuel (preferred name), lieu_naissance (birth place), nationalite (country code, e.g. FR), ine, niveau (level, e.g. CP), classe (class, e.g. CP A), ville (city), code_postal (postal code).
Maximum 1,000 rows per file. Beyond that, split into several imports.
Run the import
- Students menu → Import button.
- Drag and drop your CSV file (or click Browse).
- A row-by-row preview is displayed: each row gets a status — OK, Error (missing or invalid field, with the reason) or Duplicate.
- Fix your file if needed and drop it again.
- Click Confirm the import of N student(s): only valid rows are created.
Duplicates
A student is considered a duplicate when last name + first name + birth date match:
- another row in the same file, or
- a student already present in your school.
Duplicate rows are skipped (they never overwrite an existing record).
Plan quota
The import respects your subscription’s student quota. If the import would exceed the remaining quota, a warning is shown (used/maximum) and confirmation is blocked: reduce the number of rows or adjust your plan in Administration → Subscription.
After the import
- Created records appear immediately in Students → List.
- If the
niveau/classecolumns were filled in, students are attached to their class. - Parent accounts are not created by the import: invite guardians from each student’s record or via Settings → Invitations.
