The disciplinary panel
The disciplinary panel examines the most serious situations. A case follows a clear process, from scheduling through to decision.
Case status
- Scheduled: the panel has been convened but has not yet taken place.
- Held: the panel has sat.
- Closed: the case is closed after a decision has been reached.
Recording the decision
After the panel, management records the decision from the available options: maintained, reinforced temporary exclusion, permanent exclusion suspended or permanent exclusion. The vote tally (for / against / abstention) is attached, along with the minutes if required.
Who does what
Access to the disciplinary panel module — viewing cases and recording the final decision — is restricted to the School administrator and Head of Year roles. The Headteacher role does not currently have access to it.
